Construct a new 2665 square foot home on a steep hillside lot at the base of Pacific Heights. This project involved an extremely challenging hillside lot with extensive site work, mass excavation and Twenty foot tall poured in place retaining walls. The exterior of the house is a two tone STO finish with an asphalt shingle roof and Milgard Vinyl Windows. The interior features a concrete wall with smooth plaster finish, bamboo flooring and full wood jamb extensions at windows and doors. This home achieved Silver certification under the LEED for Homes program which recognizes excellence in Green Building.
“Three years ago we began the search for the best builder to construct our custom-designed house which we hoped would be a model of sustainability. At the annual builders show that year we walked around gathering information on ‘green’ suppliers, but the highlight was a conversation we struck up with Greg Thielen. Greg’s interest and enthusiasm were evident right away and his impressive references sealed our decision – and it was a decision we never regretted.”
“Perhaps the best example of commitment to quality was Greg’s offer to have the project evaluated under formal LEED program requirements as an energy-efficient structure. Although additional construction and financial requirements were laid on him, Greg’s initiative insured that our new house is Silver-certified, bedsides being strong and beautiful.”
